The below figure shows the cooperation between an ambulance car and a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service to carry patients.
These cooperations are usual in rural area in Japan, because the hospital is very far from the place of the patient and the doctor is not on board the ordinary ambulance car. To provide treatment for the patients as soon as possible, the Helicopter which the doctor is on board lands at the spot to meet the ambulance car, provides treatment on site and transports the patient to an appropriate medical facility according to the patient’s needs.
In that case, the ambulance car and the helicopter should wait for each other at meeting spot.
